Marry me is a musical romantic comedy directed by Kat Coiro being released in 2022.Its main character being Jennifer Lopez who is Kat Valdez a famous pop singer who is supposed to get married by her boyfriend Bastian but she found out that he cheated on her and later chose to marry a random guy from the crowd. Overall, the movie is enjoyable because of its music and the romance that it brings.

Jennifer Lopez musical talent and the choreography she brings made the movie enjoyable. Although Marry Me was a song she was supposed to sing at her wedding with Bastian , Lopez didn’t give up on love as she used the song to propose Charlie. Kat’s choreography skills helped Charlie’s students to prepare for their mathematics competition as she practiced with them. Additionally, the song love of my life Kat was choosing herself and bringing her happiness first besides all the heartbreak she went through. One of the best songs she released was On my way, you would think that she wanted to get back with Bastian as they were in good books but the case was different.

Being a famous singer she always had tight schedules including endorsement deals which her acting delivered well. On the other hand Owen Wilson as Charlie was trying to blend in Kat’s life since he was just an ordinary man who was not familiar with the life of being famous.
One of the film’s strongest elements the relationship between Charlie and his daughter Lou which at first wasn’t looking well but when Lou knew that here father is seeing Kat brought her happiness and Kat and Lou blended so well. The film also portrays that no matter the fame and being a celebrity one deserves to be truely loved as shown by Kat she didn’t give up marriage as she was married three times before Charlie. The movie also shows the strength of music as different people find love in different odds.
However, the movie has its short falls as the idea of choosing and marrying a total stranger is unrealistic because Charlie could have been married. Charlie did not match the energy with Kat as he was just an ordinary teacher leaving a simple life with his daughter, his character could have been developed more. Also the movie was predictable that even if Bastian wants to get back with Kat she would choose Charlie.
Marry Me is a movie that succeeds because of its music, romance, choreography and comedy. Although it has its weaknesses, l would recommend it to people who enjoy romance, music and family. I would give it 4/5.
