Maleficent, a fantasy movie which is directed by Robert Stromberg and it was released in 2019. Its main character Angelina Jolie portraying Maleficent who is a powerful fairy and the protector of the Moors but she was still hated because she had cursed princess Aurora, that when she turns sixteen she will become a sleeping beauty. As time went on Maleficent started to love and care for Aurora that broke the curse.
Angelina Jolie brings her character Maleficent who is a powerful fairy and the protector of Moors but as time goes on she is seen as an evil fairy because she was betrayed by Stephan her first love which angered her and made her to put a curse on Aurora.Maleficent took Aurora when she was still an infant because she had put a curse on her but as time went on the grew to love her and as a result of her love she broke the curse because Aurora was seeing Maleficent as her godmother.
Maleficent being the main character brought her character as an unpredictable fairy because the people viewed her as an evil fairy and a destroyer but she wasn’t like that before she was betrayed by king Stephan, she used to be the great protector of the Moors. Elle Fanning who is princess Aurora is an interesting character because all she wanted was unity between the humans and the fairies by trying to enter into a romantic relationship with prince Philip which Maleficent didn’t approve. King John also had the same ambition as Aurora to unite the kingdom unite but his goal was cut by his wife queen Ingrith who tries to kill Maleficent but that made Maleficent want to wipe out the humans.
The setting of the movie where Maleficent was residing in a curve and made Aurora live in a garden filled with talking fairies gives the film a true fairy tale. Maleficent’s horns and make up made the people to be intimidated because one look from her was so scary and the people of Moors feared that she would put a curse on them since they were always told that she was an evil fairy. Maleficent’s wings were also important in the movie because she would use them for fighting and also for protecting her loved ones because most of her powers were in those wings.
The film was not always perfect it had its shortfalls which included that it started when princess Aurora was an adult, there are no scenes of her as a child and her parents and what went wrong with Maleficent as the story was told in different versions as time goes on. Some characters were not relevant in the movie because that made the movie to take long hours to end and they made the movie to go in circles.
Maleficent is an interesting movie where you can experience magic, romance, parental love and forgiveness and it is worth watching and for those who are interested in watching movies with fantasy this is for you as there are faries, talking ravens, curses and magic.I would rate Maleficent three out of five
Maleficent a movie which is interesting as she uses her powers to fight with those that betrayed her but later forgives human beings and approves that the kingdoms can unite again.
